Patrizia and the Road to Italy Gang… Italy is an amazingly beautiful country. The people are of equal quality. I am not sure where to start with the rave reviews I want to give you: First Patrizia was wonderful, she was very patient with the changing minds three senior woman had when planning the trip. I could always hear a smile in her voice when speaking to her on the phone, and calm in the e-mails. I understand she is new, whenever she didn’t know the answer she would find someone who did. The organization of documents provided with details including phone numbers of all drivers, guides and local Road to Italy offices was very professional and comforting. I can not find words superlatives enough to describe the quality of the licensed local guides and drivers. Andrea met us in Rome and made our transition to our next flight effortless, he also picked us up at our Hotel in Rome for our flight home.. It was very comforting to see a familiar face. (One with a great sense of humor) Valeria in Portofino , Elizabeth in Florence, Max – Florence to Rome and Panaromic Rome tour , and my favorite Marco in Pisa. Can not remember the gals name in Como, but she made our first guided experience wonderful. (Please note the listed guides on our documents were not who actually did our tours. This is not a problem I just want the correct people to get the credit). All the transportation was done with knowledgeable, engaging drivers in luxury vehicles. The staff of each Four Star Hotel provided Five Star service. Unfortunately, my friend Sue became extremely ill two days in to the trip with Pneumonia. The Staff at Lido Palace had a Doctor at our room in 30 minutes. They were extremely concerned and were willing to provide any and all services for her. In Florence the Concierge was of the highest quality, I unfortunately I can’t remember his name, but he is the President of the Concierge Association in Italy. The Concierge called an extremely high caliber Doctor on a moments notice. Plus had staff go to the pharmacy and deliver to our door medications prescribed by the doctor… Every need was taken care. Locations of all hotels were perfect… Rooms were spacious and lovely. I would also like to give recognition to the Driver from Santa Margherita to Florence via Pisa, I have his photo but not his name… Sue was only able to do 1/2 of the Pisa tour; he sat with her while I continued for a few minutes with Marco. Then in route to Florence he contacted the hotel to let them know of her condition making sure our room was ready as we were arriving early… He is a good guy…. Excellent driver …also a licensed guide. Charlene, our third in the party, didn’t get to go at all do to an illness in her family. She canceled before we left. So for the most part it was just me and the guides…..I am on information overload. This is a good thing. I have been talking non-stop to who ever will listen, and some who really didn’t want to, but didn’t get a choice. I have recommended Road to Italy many times… I am sure you will be hearing from someone in my corner of the world. Do not hesitate to use me as a reference anytime. kathleen marshall
